I really don’t have a favorite episode, because each one was my favorite. Didn’t you just love the “twin beds” back then, on tv? Ohhhhhh, Rob ~LOL~

I LOVE **** Van **** Show ! My favorites are:

When Laura gets her toe stuck in the water pipe at the fancy hotel.

When Rob goes fishing and Laura and Millie are left home alone and they get scared.

When Laura lies about her age and Rob realizes he married a young girl.

When Rob’s brother Stacie, has personality changes when he is awake and asleep at the same time and plays the banjo and tells jokes.

When Ritchie finds out his middle name is “Rosebud”.

When Laura tells on National TV that Alan Brady is bald.

When Rob and Laura both have nighmares about Rob having a head of lettuce.

How Richie got his middle name, Rosebud by taking the first initial of family so no one had their feelings hurt. ‘What’s In A Middle Name?’ is the title of that episode.

The Christmas episode, where Rob and the crew put on a televised show in celebration- ‘The Alan Brady Christmas Show Presents,’ was the title given to this episode.

I was surprised to learn a few years ago that, Ann Morgan Guilbert, played Millie on the DVDyke Show also played on ‘The Nanny,’ as Fran’s grandmother, Yetta.

ohhhoohhho Rob..(wavering tone)…how can I pick jus, jus, just one? (sob).

I loved the characters, Rob’s pratfalls and Laura’s quivering lipped defenses of her actions. And both of them so devoted to that little Richie. I loved Mel and Rosemarie and well everything. That was intelligent comedy.

Hah! I was gonna say “It May Look Like a Walnut.” I love the scene when Laura moshes out of the broomcloset on a sea of walnuts.

I had forgotten about the other one! I think my second favorite was when Laura had been painted in the nude, and the painting was now available for sale.

I, as well, liked the one about Laura and Alan Brady’s hairpiece (her reaction was hilarious.) Another one that I remember as being quite funny was when Laura thought the room was haunted. I seem to recall she was in a motel room, but maybe I have that wrong, and trickery was done with sound effects and a mirror.

And, I loved the one where Laura was given a family brooch by Rob’s mother. It was huge and rather heavy (a model of the map of the USA), with gemstones representing the birthplaces of various family members. Laura was expected to treat the piece with great respect (heirloom) and to hold her head high when wearing it (”I’ll certainly try”) — and then, she dropped it down the garbage disposal unit!

One of my favs is the one where Rob gets hypnotized and everytime the phone rings he becomes falling down drunk and when the phone rings again he is sober.
the bit where he gets the phone caught in his jacket is great.

All I can remember is how much I looked forward to it every week, and once when he tripped over the ottoman in the living room.

He came into our drug store in Buckhead (Atlanta) when I was little, and so much a fan of his show. My mother stopped him and told him how much I loved his show, and he smiled, and put his hand on top of my head.
